Nico's Weg

Plot :

Nico is looking around at the aiport when he runs into Emma and her mother. As he leaves the airport, his bag is taken into a taxi and carried away. Lucky for him, Emma and her aunt agrees to help him and give him a ride into the city. In the car, Lisa and Emma taught him mini german lessons. When they stop to put gas in the car, he sees something he recognizes. Unfortunately, it was no luck and his bag is still gone. 

In the gas station, Nico, Lisa, and Emma run into Lisa's friend Max, who suggests that they get Lisa's father to help with Nico's situation. Lisa calls her father, a policeman, to see if he can help find Nico's aunt. Before dropping off Lisa at a birthday party, Nico and Emma play a game in the car. While waiting for Lisa, Nico hears a radio news and he proceed to call the radio station and tell them about his missing bag. 

After dropping of Emma, Nico and Lisa went to the police station where lisa’s father worked at. Lisa’s father agrees to help them and they went on a party arranged by Lisa’s housemates. Nico shows Nina and Sebastian the photo of his aunt and Sebastian has the idea to post the photo online to see if anyone recognizes the bicycle shop. Finally, Nico and his friends order pizza and find out that someone has responded to the photograph of his aunt's bicycle shop on social media.

After talking for a while, the party started. That’s where Nico meets Selma, who is from Damascus, and learns how to speak about cardinal directions in German. As the part continues, The group plays a game with food from various countries. Nico learns that Nawin has gotten a job in France, but is reluctant to leave Germany. As they clean up after the party, the group talks about the nationalities of the various guests and the languages they speak. Sebastian then interrupts with unexpected news.

The next morning, Lisa was in a rush but promises Nico that they will go see his aunt after she is finished with work. Lisa is teaching her students the importance of learning nouns along with their articles so that the gender gets memorized as well. After the lesson, Lisa is helping nico finding her aunt bike shop but Nico is disappointed to find out they have the wrong address for his aunt's bike shop.

What will happen next ? Will Nico find his bag ? Will Nico find his aunt ?

 Review :

Overall, I really enjoy watching the film. It makes learning german very fun and enjoyable. This film tells the story of a spanish man trying to survive in Germany. Along the way he learns a lot of things such as culture, language and the cuisines. He seemed very hopeless at first but he survived with very little german. 

I've got to give Emma the title of my favorite character. She's a child but she and Lisa plays a big part in helping Nico. The scenes that really stand out for me is when Emma and Nico are using alphabet snacks to introduce each other really stands out for me and the scene where Emma and Lisa in the car, teaching Nico to say " Halo, ich heiße Nico und wie heißt du ?".

From watching this, I learn a thing or two about the german language and culture, just like Nico. This film gives us an idea of what it's like to live in German. Other than teaching german cultures, this film also teach us to be kind to one another and to be aware on our surroundings. I rate this film an 8.5/10 because I really like it and I’d recommend everyone to watch it because it teaches you a lot about german culture and language and It's not a boring film.
